South Kilworth ‘Sky’ Youth Club

South Kilworth has one of the longest successfully running Youth Clubs in the Harborough district.

Kay Hillier who coordinates several youth projects and who is a qualified Community Worker has teams of Community Workers who run Youth Clubs and other projects across the district. Kay told us that the SKY Youth Club provides a depth of valuable life skills such as building resilience, building relationship skills with peers and adults, building a sense of identity, and promoting mental and emotional wellbeing...this is all done while undertaking fun activities.

This wonderful opportunity for the youth of South Kilworth came about when some years ago, the Parish Council decided to provide and fund the program. This enables the program to be delivered free of charge to South Kilworth residents. All young people join together for the first half of the evening and the second half is for the older group only. The ratio of youth to community workers is 8:1 and currently, 12young people attend regularly.
